The store is a short 2.5km leisurely walk from Tankerton Jetty.

The General Store Cafe provides tourists with an enjoyable stop over for morning/afternoon teas and light lunches.  Their speciality is their home made King Island Beef Pies and organic coffees.

They also provide cellar door sales for the French Island Vineyard.

The store provides islanders with their everyday needs, including mail and newspapers which arrive by fishing boat from Corinella 6 days a week.  Grocery items & Island produce as follows:-

Bike hire available from the Jetty Kiosk (if unattended please ring the General Store on 5980 1209).  Bikes $16 per day per person, baby seat available for $8 per day and children's bikes by prior arrangement.
